While ostensibly a game of survival on a desert island,
the core of this game is bidding for control of various
resources or comforts, including food, shelter, water
and companionship. The bid process
requires real planning, calculation, and a strict poker
face. The game does address the question of what
is necessary for survival and happiness, though young
people mostly enjoy the competition for, and accumulation
of, Resource Cards.
