Party Pooper Variations

The Picky Host

The host reads the event card and then decides if he or she wants to identify a Party Animal or a Party Pooper. The host places the party cube so that it indicates his or her choice, either the Party Animal or the Party Pooper, and play continues as usual.

Thumbs-Up

In this version of PARTY POOPER, the players compete to guess how many of the players, including themselves, would be either a Party Pooper or Party Animal for the scenario on the event card.

  1. Choose a player to be the first host. The host rolls the party cube and then draws an event card and reads it aloud.
  2. Each player determines if he or she would be a Party Animal or a Party Pooper for the scenario that was read aloud.
  3. Each player determines how many of the players, including him or herself, would be Party Animals, or Party Poopers, depending on the roll of the party cube. Without revealing the number to the other players, each player draws that number of chips from the bowl and holds them in a closed fist on the table.

For example, Party Animal was rolled and Terry believes that four of the six players in the game will identify themselves at Party Animals, so she takes four chips from the bowl.
  4. The host says “One, two, three, Party Animals!” or “One, two, three, Party Poopers!” depending on the roll of the party cube. Simultaneously, on the words “Party Animals” or “Party Poopers” each player who identified themselves as such, gives a thumbs-up.

For example, the host says “One, two, three, Party Animals!” and four players give a thumbs-up.
  5. Each player reveals the number of chips he or she took from the bowl. If that number matches the number of players with thumbs-up, that player keeps one chip.
  6. Play continues following steps 1–5 until each person has been the host the required number of times. With 4–6 players, each player is the host three times, and for games with 7–10 players, each player is the host twice.
