10 Days in the USA is one of the 10 Days series by Out of the Box publishing. OTB has also released 10 Days in Africa and have indicated there will be more 10 Days games in the future. In this family game you plan a trip across the United States with 10 Days, trying to get to a different state every day. There is one card for each state and the states are divided into five different colors. Alaska and Hawaii are a sixth color and are used a bit differently since they are not adjacent to any other states. There are also ten airplanes (two in each color) and a number of cars (which allow you to pass through a state) on your trip.

The game begins with players being dealt ten cards, one at a time. As the players receive each card they are required to place that card in one of the ten slots in their wooden rack until finally every player has ten cards and a full rack. Four cards are turned over to form four different discard piles and the rest of the cards are placed in a stack face up. On a person's turn they draw a card (either from the face down pile or from the top of a discard pile) and replace a card in their rack. The replaced card gets discarded. Play continues clockwise until one person has a complete trip. Airplanes are placed between two cards of the same color as the plane and are used to connect these two locations, regardless of where they are on the map. Cars are placed between two states that are both bordered by another state. For example, if I have Utah, then a car, then Nebraska these three cards will work as part of my trip since Colorado (and Wyoming) border both these states. Trips cannot begin or end with a plane or car (you cannot have a plane or car in Day 1 or Day 10 of your trip).

Alaska and Hawaii are connected to other states by airplane. When traveling to Hawaii or Alaska the plane must match the color of the originating state. When traveling from Hawaii or Alaska the plane must match the state you are traveling to.

The game is quick and light. Perfect for a family or casual game. You also get the added benefit of learning a bit of Geography with the game. Each card also lists the state capitol and population information.

Recommended.
